UK here I come

in just about 11 hours i'd be hopping on my plane to Stansted London, i have a feeling it'll be darn more than 11 hours though.. Evidence - Jonathan, Ajay n Grace's flights back home got delayed, in a very majorly way! n i'm so sleepy right now! hafta leave to airport at 3.30am.. n i havent packed, which means i cant sleep tonite, i think! pfft...

spent some time wif Tong, Bern, Fiona, YY, Elaine, Kristina and Bern's fren Kah Hee from Edinburgh today. one thing's thats famous for in Ireland is definitely the stout - Guiness. so we went there, to the very much overly publicised Guiness Store House somewhere in Dublin 8. found my own way there, to my own surprise - hey! looks like i'm quite good in directions weih .. lol! walked myself cos i wanted to get down at Stephens Green which is much nearer n i was kinda craving for bagels too .. the sausage eggworks bagel - YUM YUM !! hot, cheezy, sausagey, CHEEZY bagel. n the bagel factory was smacked right at Stephens Green.

oh well, the storehouse was okay. i mean, u noe me, i just dont read those steps one by one to noe how d stout is brewed n all.. even if i do read it, the moment i step out of the storehouse i'll completely forget all about it wont i ? so as usual, i just move along, taking all d pics. rather dark in there, so d photos turn out quite disappointingly.. cos i just refused to turn on the flash. ah, now that i thought of it, should haf switch it to night scene instead.. or maybe a better solution is IF ONLY i haf an SLR .. it would be perfect yo!

anyways, cant wait to get to London especially for Boxing Day. 've been surpressing my dire need to shop n BUY, yes, BUY... all because everyone says everything on Boxing Day is utterly cheap. n nowadays, am so LAZY to go shopping n walk, online does all the job, like Tesco n *ahem* ESPRIT. i have the European member card too so i was actually entitled to an extra 20% discount for their whole range... on top of their already on sale items so u could only imagine how affordable the stuffs could get. n i just couldnt stop spending time in their website browsing thru their line of apparels n boots, yes, boots, wanted to get this feminine boots wif heels n bow n all, so NICE - but think and consider too LONG, the size is now out of order. after that, regret for 10 nites n 10 days, thought of buying my second best choice - but think n think again, n tonite's d last nite to get d extra 20%. ah! wat the hell.. forget it. i cant even get them delivered anyways. all because Republic of Ireland is so segregated from the UK, they wont send it to ROI. like wats d difference if they travel an extra 1 n 1/2 hours since they do deliver to Northern Ireland anyways? stupid english people!

kinda missing my friends here abit - Grace n Christine n Ajay too. wont see them for bout a month.. 2 days ago, had a lil girly girl date wif Grace : shopping at Dundrum n then PS I Love You movie. it was sumwhat hillarious at some parts, only foreigners in Ireland might understand like they way they pronounce some very Irish kinda words, and there was a part that was SO stupid where Hillary Swank tried to cry but NO tears came out so it was only her wailings, kinda reminds me of Yoyo Mong from TVB or some other TVB ppl who sumtimes tries so hard to cry but nothing comes out. ahh.. n then of course, there are some sad sad parts and oh well, we shed some tears too in the cinema.. lol ! not to mention, we actually GOT LOST in d cinema. we dint noe that the entrance was d exit too so we kinda went into a door which couldnt be open on the other side- oh my god, so we were both stuck there forcing the door open which was utterly impossible.. until one of those i dunno wat u call them - usherer - i think, heard us pulling the door n opened it from the other side. n also when i got up from my seat, the dusts that passes thru the projector lights actually made a rather picturesque view like moving stars in the sky! not bad, not bad!

okay, this laundrette is actually getting quite scary - the door is swinging open n close. Shite, i wann aget out from here. damn clothes, taking so long!

Swank covers up for movie premiere

Hilary Swank was forced to cover up at the European premiere of her latest film as the chill Irish winter took its grip on the US actress.

The Academy award winner was half way down the red carpet for the launch of PS I Love You in central Dublin when she had to stop and pull her coat on.

"It is so cold," she exclaimed, as she was quickly handed a white wool overcoat that soon shrouded her stunning but less than cosy Yves Saint Laurent evening dress.

But hundreds of Dubliners braved the Christmas cold to catch a glimpse of the Hollywood star who has already won two Oscars for Best Actress.

Irish celebrities including Boyzone's Ronan Keating, Westlife's Nicky Byrne, designer John Rocha as well as the country's leader Bertie Ahern all turned out.

Despite the crisp conditions, a warm welcome from fans - some queueing for more than an hour - seemed to have touched Swank as she stopped several times to talk and sign autographs. "I think the theme of PS I Love You is so beautiful, I think it's such a beautiful love story," she told one.

"I think it's a reminder of what's important in life. Not to take the people you love for granted because you don't know what is going to happen tomorrow."

She told reporters that she thought Ireland was beautiful and that she hoped to come back again to soon to visit when she wasn't working.

"When we filmed PS I Love You, I got to see some of the beautiful countryside and that was stunning. It was just like the films and pictures portray it," she said.

Asked if she had a chance to enjoy herself while filming in Co Wicklow, she beamed: "I enjoyed the Guinness."

ok well not REALLY there, but i was at the next road at Grafton Street. the premiere was at Savoy, a posh cinema just on O Connell. huu huu.. WeiJiat DID pass there, msged me if i wanted to see sum actors from PS I Love You but stupid me, i din see my phone msg UNTIL he reached Grafton already. cheh! n summore so coincidentally when he passed by the Red Carpet n all, he was holding my PS I Love You book. Coincidence rite? Wanted to run in and get autograph signature summore, but Swank not there yet. Dun think Gerard Butler went though.. =( n the other guy, dunno wats his name ade. if we werent in a rush to go catch the UCD Choral Scholars Concert further west at St PATRICKS (inside joke lah, keep thinking its PAUL or PETER) Cathedral, we would have made a detour n walk back to Savoy n look rite? honestly, when i thought we were gonna be like damn late for the concert, i thought we would 'phit' the concert plan n watch PS I Love You instead. but nvm la, the concert was good stuff anyway! =D i felt like i was in the OSCARS listening to the instruments being played. n summore because of the place, inside a cathedral, it only met d feeling so much better. it was organised by the UCD Choral Scholars for the National Breast Cancer Institute so it was charity. Was eur10 for ticket but it was all worth. the choral singing, the instruments, the band, everything! it was damn good, only we - me, WeiJiat n Nikita - were abit late so the place we sat was kinda not good, so at 1st we only heard sounds n saw the beam of the cathedral. after that we changed place n everything was great. met up with christine there who went much earlier.

so yeah, regret going to concert? absolutely, NOT !
just wished i was at two places at once.

OMG ~ Karma really bites on our ass when we least expects it, dont it ??

here i was typing saying that i'm too lazy to walk the 100 metres n right after i took the food from Mr Delivery Man from Bombay Pantry .. *poof* .. the electricity went off ! wat?!? i havent even cook my rice yet ... n nobody's home (aoife is) but that also i 'tong khuei mo dou' wan .. called nikita - dunno y she din switch on her phone at the laudrette, either that or the laundrette must be like Health Science building walls filled with i dunno wat, plumbum maybe that blocks all handphone signals.

so, *sigh* no choice, walk lah to Centra. If it happened earlier for me to go buy electricity card, then i would get to eat my lamb sheek thingy rite ?!? shites!

anyway, came back n open d aluminium foil, smell first, lick d oil at the side of the container ...

BOMBAY PANTRY

i found this website n apprently according to some sources... it serves one of THE best indian food around dublin. so i ordered - Bombay Pantry Chicken Curry -- HOT ! (not mild or medium, but hot. lets pray thats its REALLY spicy, real spice n not some lousy alagappas kinda thing that makes me awfully thirstry afterwards)
wanted to order the lamb starters too, wats it call - - Lamb Seekh Chaat but looked into my wallet n theres not enuf cash so wtheck, next time lah! since so lazy to walk 100 metres to Centra n draw money..

dont order by internet though, it charges eur2.50 extra.

tonight, last epic battle. early paper tmrw morning, 9 am! after that .... FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

on the list next-
1) good lunch tmrw.
2) London to Bristol to Birmingham to Cambridge n to London for new year.
3) Back in Dublin, find a job thats not so hectic, haf one in mind but we'll see how that goes.. i'll be all alone in Belfield till everyone's back from wherever they are. so gonna haf loads of time to myself.

Why cant I download the TCS dramas to watch online???

i -miss- those days watching Mediacorp dramas so much ... on ch19, 7 pm.

theres was a point in time where ntv7 showed at 6 pm too. i think they changed to 9 pm after that, but it alternates with mediacorp-malaysian production n sumtimes taiwanese.

n of course, the super long episodes on 8tv, 5pm.

oh ya! n the ntv7 ones at 3 pm.

HAHA.. i was really a drama addict back then !
i could watch, lets see, 3-4 pm mediacorp, 5-6 mediacorp, 6-7 tvb, 7-8 mediacorp, 9.30-10.30 taiwanese/korean (but seldom lah! depends on the show) n then sometimes the repeat of 7pm's at 11pm !! *n i'm not even counting the other Americano dramas yet?!?*
urgh.. i miss them !!! wonder whats on at 7 pm now on AEC ?

come to think of it, mediacorp dramas are one of those topics that I can brag n yak about to people who watch them too, non stop, haha! like to KaySen.. or EeLis.. sometimes Phu. but sheez, Phu only watches those with Fann Wong or Christopher Lee in it. ;P

anyways, had 2 papers today. wat can i say about it?
haf u ever felt at times where u really wanna do well in something n u try too hard n it just falls flat onto ur face? yup. thats wat happened. u see, i wanted to study like really well n make sure i remember EVERY THING (which is REALLY IMPOSSIBLE) n so i went like DAMN slow. it wasnt because i was lagging or bumming or anything, but seriously I worked damn hard for this semester finals. n guess what? i went TOO slow n couldnt finish studying. today is officially the first time in my life i went into an exam hall NOT knowing anything for basic tissues n embryology. serious. ok i actually only managed to cover half. the other half, i honestly cannot remember much from lectures cos they werent about anything familiar at all, say upper limbs, but this different, its about embryo formation and neuromuscular junctions. i cant possible try to pronate or supinate my forearm n feel the muscles to answer the questions !

maybe this is just my first sem, i nid some time to adapt to the whole studying process here, like how the questions are true/false n not the MCQ type back home. True/false sucks man. u gotta be like really really sure of the thing to answer. its like the whole sentence can sound correct but maybe cos of 1 word, ONE word, thats maybe the opposite meaning n u dun realise it .. n there goes.. *poof* 0.5 marks deducted ! *slouchs* anyways, this might be good training for common sense usage. hopefully everything turns out alright.... ^.^

OMG !! it snowed this morning for 10 mins n i slept thru it !!!
HOW COULD I ?

all i can see is the remnants of it on the ground, turned to frost already... see.. like drops of melted ice, like the one in d freezer, can scrap n become cendol .. boohoo!!

but nikita said its not snow, its just frost cos apparently the message in Facebook from the group 'I'd Rather Live in Merville...' that says 'It snowed for 10 mins this morning, God is smiling on Merville' has been there since ystd... i dint notice it somehow so i got all hyped up n thought it SNOWED this morning ... somehow, i still think it did, just for d excitement ~!

Anyway, now that it is the study break, n i've been staying at HOME for the past sooo many days, i think i've really grown to like my ROOM~ its like my other half, cos i'm in this four walls, sitting down on this hard chair that gives me my severe backache for say, at least 21 hrs each day? 3 hrs for cooking, eating while watching tv, pangsai, brush teeth, wash face n bathe. oh, n walk to centra in my pJs too.. n these days till the following months, winds wll be strong, n it rains most of the time too.. n u noe wat? since my window is natural National Geographic channel wif a dog statue, sometimes foxes at nite, it makes quite good view with the occasional helicopters passing by. however, i THINK d BEST part of it now is the sound of the gushing winds and raindrops.
