Jiwang ~

Kenangan Terindah - Samsons

Aku yang lemah tanpamu
Aku yang rentan karena
Cinta yang t'lah hilang
Darimu yang mampu menyanjungku

Selama mata terbuka
Sampai jantung tak berdetak
Selama itu pun aku mampu
Untuk mengenangmu

Darimu kutemukan hidupku
Bagiku kaulah cinta sejati

Bila yang tertulis untukku
Adalah yang terbaik untukmu
Kan kujadikan kau
Kenangan yang terindah dalam hidupku
Namun takkan mudah bagiku
Meninggalkan jejak hidupku
Yang t'lah terukir abadi
Sebagai kenangan yang terindah

Darimu kutemukan hidupku
Bagiku kaulah cinta sejati

Bila yang tertulis untukku
Adalah yang terbaik untukmu
Kan kujadikan kau
Kenangan yang terindah dalam hidupku
Namun takkan mudah bagiku
Meninggalkan jejak hidupku
Yang t'lah terukir abadi
Sebagai kenangan yang terindah

Over the hills and faraway

"There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads. Afraid. Confused. Without a roadmap. The choices we make in those moments can define the rest of our days. Of course, when faced with the unknown, most of us would rather turn around and go back. But once in awhile people push on to something better-something found just beyond the pain of going it alone and just beyond the bravery and courage it takes to let someone in. Or to give someone a second chance.
Something beyond the quiet persistence of a dream.
Because it's only when you're tested that you discover who you truly are. And it's only when you're tested that you discover who you can be. The person you want to be does exist, somewhere on the other side of hard work, faith and belief, and beyond heartache and fear of what lies ahead."

time and time

"I've been on a calendar but I have never been on time"
Marilyn Monroe

the clock showed 12.oo am, 45 minutes ago.

the clock shows 12.oo am, 15 minutes later.

of all the wonders in the world, i beg to nominate time as the greatest wonder of all. the prime meridian at greenwich.. be there, at the observatory n i'm sure there'll be a whale of feelings flooding across our minds- joy, wonder, loneliness, grateful, hatred, happy, gay, regret, oh everything!

how does it feel to be in the middle of 2 places at once? or maybe spend a day, and spend the same day all over again right at a different place? who was the celebrity who got married at one place and jet-planed right to d other side of the world and said their vows again? unimaginable...

well... they say cameras dont lie. i think time its the worst liar. time will tell.

Denis Waitely once said, Time is an equal opportunity employer. Each human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day. Rich people can't buy more hours. Scientists can't invent new minutes. And you can't save time to spend it on another day. Even so, time is amazingly fair and forgiving. No matter how much time you've wasted in the past, you still have an entire tomorrow.

Penang - the best place to be ?

I remember just a few months ago, in Penang, I was constantly complaining bout how terrible Pg is, the biased government, the damn 'clean' toilets, the ineffiency of any government body to any private bodies, the bus system - Rapid Penang (altho i nvr sat a bus in my life in PG, i still noe how bad it is), the buildings, ppl not using their brains, the cars, the jam, the stoopid motorbikes inching in n out of roads, management, people smoking in public ... EVERYTHING ! Seriously!

But now that I'm here in Ireland, I find Penang, or rather Malaysia is not so BAD after all. Really. And i'm wondering why am i making this statement. Okay, maybe the governement back home IS n probly WILL always be, not in my favour. The buses in Dublin are always late, more frequent though.. and 1 thing, black smoke nvr came out from vehicles! YEAH! But then again, ppl here smoke 10x more publicy than the ppl in Malaysia. So the concentration of pollution equals. Contradicting!

Shops - in Ireland, it closes sharp at the time they're supposed to. Like, they dont want extra business by 5 minutes?? Yesterday, Abe n I rushed all the way back to city to get a set of 5 pieces of Tefal pots and pans, just only in time to see them close down the shutters. *shakes head* We banged their shutters, n they WERE inside, HEARD us, but they IGNORED us ! Worst part is, all shops close at wat ... 6 pm ? OMG .. wat do ppl do from 6 onwards? Pub? Club? i would rather say ... kill their own brain cells n virginity. I really miss those times we can walk in shopping complexes till.. 10.30 pm .. isnt that time for family to go out n hang around together, rather than cooking instant pasta or chicken baguette at home, then children n adults alike adjourn to the bar.

So, yeah, why m i posting this? Half an hour ago, I chatted with Phu on msn. n she showed me - this - My first impression of it ... I went ... "WOW!!! Damn beautiful! its almost as if Pg is becoming a really modern and vibrant city, good for young fellas to hang out, a place for adults to contribute to the booming of economics, tourist will come around n see, uhhhh... wait..." The excitement in me 'die-ded'. "Can Penangites be as civilised as they're supposed to be and not vandalise d area, can d government be efficient enough to upkeep the place, the greens, and the backdrop against Pg Hill.. Isnt that Paya Terubong ?? Omg, thats a landslide area! NO wonder the hills behind look so much like the hills near Bukit Jambul .." In Ireland, the government is strict in imposing laws like, no buildings are supposed to be 6 storeys higher, no in-house smoking, no bribes, city council sweepers drive the 'zamboni' to clean up d area each night, after all d mess to be squeaky clean in d morning, not MAN sweeping the floor wif lidi IN the morning itself where all d morning rush happens. Heck, y even sumtimes they chop down obstructing trees early in the morning ? *shakes head again*

ok well anyway, I read the thing, and read it again .. a weird kinda feeling enveloped. I really feel proud of where I come from. My roots. How I was brought up. Where I was brought up. Yesterday during the parade in Med Day at Trinity Coll Dublin, I was sitting by the pavement of one of the old old buildings in TCD with 2 other Irish coursemates. Heck. Med Day was COOL ! the guys of med soc volunteered to parade around the city centre, wearing GALS clothes.. complete in water baloons all! LOL. alright, i was sitting there n suddenly, one of the irish guys i was sitting wif told me he HAS been to Msia. I FELT SO PROUD k! n he told me he went to ... of all places in MSia, PENANG. he named a few places, batu feringghi, teluk bahang... mutiara! lolx! i asked him why dint he visit KL, n he replied, "wats there to see in KL other than the Petronas Twin Towers?" Crap.. that totally double boosted my proudness as a Penangite. hahaha. =P

*smacks my head*

Just a while ago, Geraldine aka Geri, asked me about the accommodation I stayed in at Galway 2 weeks ago. She googled it n ... WOW .. this came up ! I read it... n i LAUGHED so much to myself!!!

wat the heck ..~! no wonder it was SOOOO expensif ! n their hse were filled with all those beautiful home decorations of china n other glassware.... KONONNYA, Flannerys B&B were awarded the B&B of THE YEAR AWARD by Discovery Travel & Living... ch 11 astro which i always watch to see how nice other places outside of Msia are ... aiyo, pangsai! high class wan wei! n summore, they give us d SUITE ... which was facing the front of the house with our very own toilets.... !! n the toilets, man, Christine n I were SOOO impressed wif it, they haf story books lined up with titles from authors like John Grisham, dunno wat Albott, and many others, with hair dryer and everything else.! heck, I even camwhored myself IN d toilet! just one thing... the toilet was abit not sound proof... yeah.. so Chris was slightly amused by the sounds that came from it when i was inside.. Lolx!

n wat more, Chris n I were so into watching the television there that we dint even wanna budge our lazy body to go out into d cold n get some dinner!!! y? cos no 1. Chris's apt doesnt even haf a tv! no. 2, my hse has tv (thanx to my irish hsemate who brought her small one along) but those shows aired were lousy as compared to those at Flannery's.. I only haf d occasional heroes or prison break or greys anatomy. even that also, i nvr watch d tv which come to think of it, is REALLY a great achievement by myself, a RARE feat considering the fact that i nvr skipped tv ONE day in my life in Penang! whoa! OMG, n the blankets are electronic blankets? Fuiyoh! I nvr even heard of one.. n dint exactly realised. No wonder we were like pressing n pressing an electronic gadget hanging down from d bed that is what looked like the gadget by the hospital bed patients use to call d nurses for emergency! n we pressed n played with it but nothing quite happened. stoopid.

thinking about it now... it was however a good experience and maybe, quite well worth the money cos d bfast was fairly good. ohh.. i wanted to steal the whole bowl of jam and butter so i nid not spend on those for maybe the next 2 months... but there were 2 other guys around so i didnt quite get myself to do it ... WELL, I SHOULD HAVE ! *smackx*

bumper !
